 A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
 (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a warning notice is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.

 (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a warning notice is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

 4. Procedure

 Subtask 79-21-20-420-052
R A. Installation of the main oil/fuel heat exchanger (60)
 (1) Remove the blanking caps and plugs.
R NOTE : If the main oil/fuel heat exchanger (60) is in preservation
____ R condition , do the depreservation procedure (Ref. TASK 79-21-20-620-002).
 (2) Make sure that the gaskets (110) and (160) are serviceable.

 (3) Make sure that all the mating faces are clean.

 (4) Lubricate the gasket (110) with engine oil (Material No. CP2442). Install the gasket (110) on the fuel pump (80) mating face.

 (5) Lubricate the threads of the fuel pump mounting studs with graphite grease (Material No. CP2101).

 (6) Install the main oil/fuel heat exchanger (60) on the fuel pump housing.


R (7) Install the washers (120) and nuts (130) to attach the main oil/fuel R heat exchanger (60) to the fuel pump (80).
 (8) TORQUE the nuts (130) to between 125 and 140 lbf.in (1.41 and 1.58 m.daN).

 (9) Lubricate the threads of the (main oil/fuel heat exchanger) drain nipple (140) with engine oil (Material No. CP2442). Connect the drain tube (90) to the drain nipple (140). Tighten by hand.


R R PRE CFM SB 72-0515 and CFM SB 79-0022 R
R (10) Connect the FUEL IN tube (40) to the main oil/fuel heat exchanger R (60) and to the fuel hose (200) as follows :
 (a) Make sure that the mating faces are clean.

 (b) Lubricate the gasket (160) with engine oil (Material No. CP2442).

 (c) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (180) with graphite grease (Material No. CP2101).
R (d) Install the gasket (160) in sandwich between the tube (40) and R the exchanger (60). Put the bracket at its correct position above R the square flange of tube (40) and install washers (170) and R bolts (180) to attach the tube (40) to the exchanger (60).
R (e) Tighten the bolts (180) as follows:
R NOTE : You must apply the following steps at each of the 4 bolts
____ R (180). Start by the first bolt on the top left side of the R port, followed by the second bolt at the diagonally R opposite location, the third bolt on the bottom left side R of the port and the fourth bolt at the diagonally opposite R location. R
R 1_ TORQUE the bolts (180) to between 0.45 and 0.50 m.daN (39.82R and 44.24 lbf.in).
R 2_ Unscrew the bolts (180) but do not remove them.
R 3_ Measure the LOCKING TORQUE of each bolt (180). This TORQUER must be to between 0.023 and 0.17 m.daN (2.03 and 15.04 R lbf.in); if not, replace the bolt.
R 4_ TORQUE the bolts (180) again to between 0.45 and 0.50 m.daNR (39.82 and 44.24 lbf.in).
R 5_ Add the LOCKING TORQUE value of the bolts (180) recordedR before.
R 6_ FINAL TORQUE the bolts (180) to between 0.473 and 0.67 m.daNR (41.85 and 59.29 lbf.in).
R (f) Connect the other end of the tube (40) to the fuel hose (200). R Tighten the coupling nut (10) by hand. R R END OF PRE CFM SB 72-0515 and CFM SB 79-0022 R R POST CFM SB 72-0515 and CFM SB 79-0022 R
