R A. Remove the Electrical Master Chip Detector (EMCD) as follow: R (Ref. Fig. 601/TASK 79-00-00-991-301)
R (1) At the same time, push and turn the EMCD plug one quarter of a turn R counterclockwise.
R (2) Disengage the EMCD from its housing.

R (1) Check the functioning of the chip detector including visual indicator R pop out response.
R NOTE : Visual indicator must be energized by 28 volts Aircraft power
____ R only (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
R (a) Bridge the gap between the 2 magnet poles with a metallic wire R jumper or any metallic piece for a minimum of 1 seconds.
R (b) Do a visual inspection of the visualindicator red pop out, it R must extend (extension time < 1 second).
R (2) If the red pop out indicator is extended:
R (a) De-Energize the Aircraft Electrical Circuits from the External R Power (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

R (a) De-Energize the Aircraft Electrical Circuits from the External R Power (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
R (b) Do the resetting of the visual indicator (Ref. TASK 79-21-30-440-R 001).
R (c) No further action is required, do the step H. Install the EMCD
