The ferrying ‐ V1 (also termed as VSTOP) is the maximum speed to which the aircraft can be
accelerated all serviceable engines operating and then stopped within the available accelerate –
stop distance.
‐ VR must be above VMCG-2
VR must be above 1.03 VMCA-2
V2 must be above 1.07 VMCA-2
‐ There is no requirement concerning the first segment
‐ The following takeoff flight path requirements are based on the failure of a second engine during
the takeoff phase.
The most adverse aircraft configuration retained are the following :
1. Outer engine unserviceable : loss of the symmetrical outer engine and landing gear down
2. Inner engine unserviceable : loss of the outer engine on the same wing.
• Second segment requirement : a gradient of 1.5 % at 400 ft height is required.
• Final takeoff requirement : a gradient of 1.2 % is required. The en route climb speed must
not be less than 1.18 Vs.
The net takeoff flight path is the gross flight path reduced by a gradient of 0.5 %.
APPROACH AND LANDING
‐ There is no requirement concerning the approach climb
‐ For landing climb, a gradient of 2 % is required with one engine inoperative, landing
configuration, gear down, TOGA thrust and a speed not less than 1.23 Vs and VMCL.
‐ Landing distance calculation accounts for the two engine inoperative case.
EN ROUTE
‐ The en route flight path is considered with two engine inoperative on the same wing and gear up
‐ The net gradient is the gross gradient decreased by 1 %.

PERFORMANCE DATA
Applicable to:
TAKEOFF
A specific takeoff chart must be computed for each runway from which a three engine ferry flight is
performed. It is not recommended to take off with tailwind.
FUEL PLANNING
The performance data are provided for the rotor locked case. Fuel consumption for the windmilling
case is about 3 % lower.
The recommended speeds are 250 kt/M .70 for climb, M .70 for cruise, M .70/250 kt for descent
and green dot speed for holding.

The landing climb performance is never limiting for airports up to 4 000 ft (5 300 ft with air
conditioning OFF). For higher airport elevations, the corresponding maximum limiting weight must
be determined using the performance programs.
In case of a second engine failure, the aircraft will drift down to the ceiling drawn. (Refer to
PRO-SPO-40-60 TWO ENGINES INOPERATIVE - ONE ROTOR LOCKED )
A flight planning table allows the fuel and time required from brake release to landing to
be determined (Refer to PRO-SPO-40-60 FLIGHT PLANNING FROM BRAKE RELEASE
TO LANDING - 1 ENGINE OUT - ROTOR LOCKED - ISA). In cruise quick check (Refer to
PRO-SPO-40-60 IN CRUISE QUICK CHECK FROM ANY MOMENT IN CRUISE TO LANDING
- 1 ENGINE OUT - ROTOR LOCKED - ISA) and alternate table (Refer to PRO-SPO-40-60
ALTERNATE PLANNING FROM DESTINATION TO ALTERNATE AIRPORT - 1 ENGINE OUT -
ROTOR LOCKED - ISA) are also provided.
