FCOM 19 AUG 10
Oxygen is supplied for :
‐ 30 s at FL 400,
‐ Descent at 5 000 ft/min from FL 400 to cruise altitude,
‐ Descent at 5 000 ft/min cruise altitude to FL 100,
‐ Flight time at a chosen cruise altitude, read on the chart.
Note: The pax oxygen system is designed such that for a constant pressure and a given
number of pax masks in use the flight time increases for flight levels above 140 up to 200
and decreases for altitudes above.
Applicable to: ,
EMERGENCY DESCENT IN CASE OF RAPID DEPRESSURIZATION
In case of depressurization, oxygen is supplied to passengers in individual units. Their capacity is
such that the aircraft must descend and remain below the following profile.

(*) Between FL 80 and FL 150, oxygen must be provided for 2 % of the passengers. This is
provided by the portable oxygen system. When it is no longer available, descend to FL 80.
For performance at FL 80/250 kt : Use data for FL 100/LRC (Refer to
PER-CRZ-AEO-CRT-50 CRUISE AT LONG RANGE - ISA CG = 30.0%).
Fuel consumption will be lower by several percent, depending on the aircraft weight.
Applicable to:
EMERGENCY DESCENT IN CASE OF RAPID DEPRESSURIZATION
In case of depressurization, the fixed cabin oxygen system supplies oxygen, stored in
interconnected cylinders. The flow rate is controlled by an altimetric flow regulation device within
each mask container.
Depending on the number of masks used, and on the altitude flown during the descent, the
following chart provides the oxygen supply time.

TAKEOFF
Limit the aircraft’s rate of climb to about 500 ft/min.
CLIMB
Note: The EXCESS CAB ALT warning may occur.
Use the ECAM CLR pushbutton to clear the warning.
DESCENT
Limit the aircraft’s rate of descent to about 1 000 ft/min. Perform the final approach normally.
