Condition: LNAV is armed and the airplane is not on an intercept
heading to the active leg.
Condition: A message is in the FMC message window.
Condition: VNAV is selected, and gross weight, cost index or
cruise altitude are not entered.
FMC PERF INIT page. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Select
Ensure all required data is entered.
Condition: Airplane is not on FMC origin runway when either
engine’s thrust is in the takeoff range.
Condition: The FMC is unable to achieve the required time of
arrival within the allowable time error.
Condition: The FMC calculation of airplane position is based on
conflicting data.
Condition: GPS has failed.

Condition: FMC estimated fuel at the destination is less than the
entered RESERVES fuel.
The INSUFFICIENT FUEL message may be caused by an
engine fuel leak. For indications of an engine fuel leak,
check:
• total fuel remaining on EICAS compared to planned fuel
remaining
• fuel flow indications, for an engine with excessive fuel
flow
• individual tank quantities
• totalizer compared to calculated quantities (PROGRESS
page 2/3). The TOTALIZER value is the sum of the
individual tank quantities. The CALCULATED value is the
totalizer value at engine start minus fuel used (calculated
using fuel flow rates and time).
If there is an indication of an engine fuel leak:
Accomplish the FUEL LEAK checklist.
If FUEL DISAGREE message is displayed without any
indication of an engine fuel leak:
Obtain a more direct route to the destination, or divert to
an alternate with shorter routing.
Condition: During inertial reference system alignment, excessive
airplane motion is detected.
Airplane must be stopped to allow IRS alignment to
complete.
When IRS ALIGN MODE memo message is no longer
displayed:
Continue normal operation.

Condition: The airplane may not follow an LNAV turn because
bank angle is limited by available thrust or buffet.
If unable to remain within protected airspace, advise ATC.
Condition: Backup sources for airspeed and altitude are being
used instead of air data.
Avoid abrupt control inputs.

by simplified elevator feel and rudder ratio systems.]
Note: Altitude is from GPS and is approximately equal to
MSL altitude. Altimeter cannot be used above
transition level to accurately maintain flight levels.
Note: Airspeed is calculated using angle of attack. Airspeed
errors of up to 15 KIAS may exist at approach speeds.
