# Autothrottle ARM switch. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .OFF
[Allows thrust lever to remain where manually positioned.]
# Thrust lever. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Close
[Assists in recognition of affected engine.]
# FUEL CONTROL switch. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . CUTOFF
# ENGINE FIRE switch. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Pull
[Shuts off fuel and hydraulic fluid and arms the fire extinguishing system.]

for go–around.
Do not accomplish the following checklist:
AUTOTHROTTLE
Condition: An engine tailpipe fire is reported on the ground with
no engine fire warning.
FUEL CONTROL switch (Affected engine). . . . . . . . . CUTOFF
Advise the cabin.
If electrical is available:
START selector (Affected engine). . . . . . . . . . . . . . START
Advise the tower.
If the engine is being motored:
Continue to motor until the tailpipe fire is extinguished.
START selector (Affected engine). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . NORM

Observe gear EXTEND limit speed (270K/.82M).

Plan to land at the nearest suitable airport.
Flight with gear down increases fuel consumption and
decreases climb performance. Refer to Gear Down

If landing gear must be retracted for airplane performance:
When FIRE WHEEL WELL message no longer displayed:
Wait 20 minutes.
[Attempts to ensure that wheel well fire is extinguished.]
