Install thrust bearing (21) with seal facing nut and bushing (21A) on apex bolt (18).

Install nut on bolt. Tighten nut 225 to 250 pound-inches lube torque then back off and tighten finger-tight. Additional tightening only as required to align locking holes is permitted.
(6)
Install cotter pin (20).
L. Connect electrical wire harness (N) to lower torsion link (10).
(1)
Loosen wire harness for installation of clamps.
(2)
Install wire harness clamp on position piston spring cartridge (27) and block clamps (12), with respective wire clamps (13), on lower torsion link (10) (detail B).
M. Install nose wheels (Ref 32-45-21 R/I).
N. Remove jack from nose gear axle.
O. Lower airplane nose and remove jacks (Ref Chapter 7, Jacking Airplane).

NOSE LANDING GEAR TORSION LINKS - APPROVED REPAIRS
1. General
A. This procedure contains a task that will let you correct the axial clearance that is too large. You can correct the axial clearance with shims at specified landing gear components locations.
B. This procedure is for temporary repairs only. The recommended overhaul rework is to put the part back to the initial limits with the new bushings.

Remove the torsion link (Ref 32-21-31/401).

NOSE GEAR TRUNNION BEARING - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. The trunnion bearing is removed after damage or excessive wear. The nose gear must be removed first to obtain access to the trunnion bearing.
2. Equipment and Materials
A. Ground Lock Assemblies (Ref 32-00-01)
B. Chemical and Solvent Resistant Finish -BMS 10-11, Type I
C. Trunnion Pin and Bearing Puller Set -F80158-1
D. Grease MIL-G-21164 or MIL-G-23827 optional to BMS 3-33
3. Remove Nose Gear Trunnion Bearing
A. Remove nose landing gear (Ref 32-21-0, Removal/Installation).
B. Remove nuts, washers, and bolts retaining bearing.
C. Remove bearing with trunnion bearing puller.
