AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST
1. Automatic Braking System Test (Fig. 501)
A. General
(1) The system build-in test features are used to test the automatic braking system.
B. Equipment and Materials.
(1)
Gear Ground Lock Assembly - F72735 (Ref 32-00-01).
(2)
Pressure gages-0 to 4000 psi, for hydraulic fluid BMS 3-11 (2 or 4 as required).
C. Prepare for Test
(1)
Check that gear ground lock assembly is installed in main and nose gear (Ref 32-00-01).
(2)
Place chocks under wheels.
(3)
Install pressure gages in the RO and RI brake lines (LI and LO installation optional).
(4)
Pressurize hydraulic systems A and B.
NOTE: To pressurize hydraulic system A using hydraulic test stand or hydraulic system B electric motor-driven pumps, the ground interconnect valve must be opened using the following steps.
(a)
Pressurize hydraulic system B (Ref 29-12-0 MP)
(b)
set parking brake.
(c)
Move GROUND INTERCONNECT switch on P5 forward overhead panel to OPEN.
(d)
Open GND INTER VALVE circuit breaker on P6-2 panel.
(e)
Release parking brake.
(5)
Provide electrical power to system.
(6)
Close following circuit breakers on P6 panel.
(a)
All antiskid system circuit breakers.
(b)
All landing gear system circuit breakers.
(c)
AUTOBRAKE CONTR.
(d)
AUTO SPEED BRAKE.
(7)
Place INBD and OUTBD antiskid switches to ON position.
D. Test Automatic Braking System
(1)
Press-to-test the AUTOBRAKE DISARM light on the autobrake control panel and verify the light illuminates.
(2)
Press-to-test the AUTOBRAKE light on the front of the antiskid control module and verify the light illuminates.
NOTE: The AUTOBRAKE light repeats all light indications of the AUTOBRAKE DISARM light in the rest of the test.
(3)
While depressing AIR SENS test switch on landing gear accessory module, place the AUTOBRAKE selector switch on autobrake control panel to MIN position.
(4)
Verify that AUTOBRAKE DISARM light remains extinguished (observe for approximately 3 seconds).
(5)
Open AUTOBRAKE CONTR circuit breaker and verify that AUTOBRAKE DISARM light illuminates.
(6)
Close AUTOBRAKE CONTR circuit breaker and verify that AUTOBRAKE DISARM light extinguishes.
(7)
Release the AIR SENS test switch and place the AUTOBRAKE selector switch to OFF position.
(8)
Repeat steps (3), (4), and (7) for AUTOBRAKE selector switch at MED and then MAX positions.
