R (g) Connect the red lead of the DC meter to the pin A and the black R lead to the pin B of the aircraft-side connector of the detector.

R (h) During the subsequent 40 to 60 seconds do a check of the voltage
R with the voltage-meter. The DC meter pulses between DC voltages.
1_ If the highest voltage peak shown on the voltmeter is less
than 22VDC,
R - For A319/320: one or more of the smoke detector(s) between
R SDCU channel 1 and 5WH is(are) defective.
R - For A321: one or more of the smoke detector(s) between the
R SDCU channel 1 and 7WH is(are) defective.
2 If the highest voltage peak shown on the voltmeter is equal to
_
24+/-2V (voltage pulses between 0V and 24V), R - For A319/320: the smoke detectors between SDCU channel 1 and R 5WH are serviceable. Smoke detector 5WH apparently is
defective. Replace the smoke detector. R - For A321: the smoke detectors between SDCU channel 1 and 7WH R are serviceable. Smoke detector 7WH apparently is defective.
Replace the smoke detector.
(i) Open the SDCU circuit breakers 11WQ and 12WQ.
R (j) Connect smoke detector 5WH for A319/A320 (or 7WH for A321) to the R loop again.
R (k) If step (e) 1 applies, do a test for each smoke detector in the R sequence of channel 2, that is between SDCU channel 2 and 5WH for A319/320, between SDCU channel 2 and 7WH for A321.
R NOTE : The test for the last smoke detector is complete when the
____ R smoke detector 5WH for A319/A320 or 7WH for A321 was R disconnected and connected to the loop again.
1 Disconnect the n-th smoke detector of channel 2.
_
NOTE : "n" gives the position of the smoke detector in the
____ loop. At the start of this procedure "n" refers to the second cargo smoke detector, n=2. Cargo smoke detector 2WH (n=2) is disconnected to examine the previous
R detector 1WH (n-1) in the loop (adjacent to 2WH).
R 2_ Close the SDCU circuit breakers 11WQ and 12WQ and pause 40 toR 60 seconds.
3 Measure the voltage (DC mode) between pin F and pin G of the
_ aircraft-side connector.
a If the highest voltage peak shown on the voltmeter is less
_ R than 22VDC, the smoke detector in the location (n-1) is R defective. Replace the smoke detector.

b_ If the highest voltage peak shown on the voltmeter is equal
R to 24+/-2V (voltage level pulses between 0V and 24V), the
R smoke detector on the location (n-1) is serviceable.
4_ Open the SDCU circuit breaker 11WQ and 12WQ.
R 5_ Connect the n-th smoke detector to the loop again and
R disconnect the smoke detector on the location (n+1).
R 6_ Do the steps (k) 1 to step (k) 5 for each smoke detector that
R is in a subsequent position in the loop to examine each smoke
R detector.
R NOTE : An incorrect voltage measured at the location number n____
R indicates a defective smoke detector on the location
R (n-1).
R (l) If step (h) 1 applies, do a test for each smoke detector in the
R sequence of channel 1. That is between SDCU channel 1 and 5WH for
R A319/320, between SDCU channel 1 and 7WH for A321.
R NOTE : The test for the last smoke detector is complete when____
R smoke detector 5WH for A319/320 or 7WH for A321 has been
R disconnected and connected to the loop again.
