A. Removal of Burns and Pits
(1) Hold the end of the ignition lead firmly by hand. Clean the carbon deposits from the metal contact with CRATEX polishing block P/N3802 extra fine grade or Unison Industries contact polishing tool (optional) P/N 11-10786-1. Apply light pressure in a circular motion and keep the polishing block parallel to the contact surface.
(2) Continue to polish the igniter contact until the burns and pits are removed.

B. Measure the dimension between the contact face and the retaining ring groove. Replace the ignition lead if this dimension is less than 0.055 in. (1.4 mm).

C. Clean the ceramic insulator sleeve and contact with a lint-free cloth R that is moist with trichloroethylene (Material No. CP1008) or stoddard R solvent (Material No. CP2011) or acetone (Material No. CP1039) or ardrox R 552 (Material No. CP2559) or turco ind 79 (Material No. CP2560) or mag-R chem teksol (Material No. CP2566) or degreasol 99 R (Material No. CP2584) R or mag-chem skysol (Material No. CP2656) .
