SMOKE/FUMES/AVNCS SMOKE - GENERAL (Cont'd)
IF SMOKE SOURCE CANNOT BE DETERMINED AND STILL PERSISTS OR
AVNCS/ELECTRICAL SMOKE SUSPECTED:
Consider shedding the AC BUS bar on one side. Then, if unsuccessful, on the other. When it is
clear that the shedded side is not involved, reconnect it.
Shed AC BUS 1–1 + 1–2 as follows:
GEN 3+4.............................................................................................................. CHECK ON
ECAM/ND SEL.................................................................................................................. F/O
The ECAM SD will be lost during the sequence. Switching is necessary to allow ELEC
page monitoring.
ELEC/AC page.......................................................................................................... SELECT
BUS TIE........................................................................................................................... OFF
The BUS TIE OFF caution is triggered after 5 s.
AC ESS FEED............................................................................................................... ALTN
Avoids autopilot and autothrust disconnection during electrical transients.
GEN 1+2...........................................................................................................................OFF
The ECAM SD is lost.
Note: If this electrical configuration is maintained, the Captain’s Total Air Temperature
and angle-of-attack, standby angle-of-attack, and pitot are not deiced. PFD1 and
STBY instruments may display erroneous data in icing conditions. Use PFD2.
