If the test passes, the display shows NO FAULTS. If the test fails,
the display shows a fault message. You can use the switches on
the BITE panel to see more information about the fault
message. You can also see if there are other fault messages.
Fault Details
FAULT DETAILS? shows the message number and the fault
type for the fault message. These are the fault types:
* LATCHED
* HARD
* INTRMTNT ACTIVE
* INTRMTNT INACTIVE.
LATCHED shows for latched faults. HARD shows for faults found
during continuous monitoring or during a FSEU BITE test.
INTRMTNT ACTIVE shows for any fault that becomes inactive at
least once during the flight leg and is now active. INTRMTNT
INACTIVE shows for any fault that becomes inactive at least
once during the flight leg and is now inactive. The fault is active
when the FSEU senses the fault. The fault is inactive when the
FSEU does not sense the fault.
Shop Details
SHOP DETAILS? shows the following information, if applicable:
* Fault isolation location
* Proximity sensor to target gap at the time of the fault
* Synchro angle of the failed sensor in degrees at the time of
the fault
* FSEU connector and pin information for the failed
component.
These are the fault isolation locations:
* EXTERNAL
* INTERNAL
* NOT ISOLATED.
EXTERNAL shows when the fault is not in the FSEU. INTERNAL
shows when the fault is in the FSEU. NOT ISOLATED shows
when the fault may be either in or not in the FSEU.

Fault History
The fault history selection shows fault information that is in the
non-volatile memory (NVM) in the FSEU. Monitors in the FSEU
put data in the NVM during these conditions:
* System tests using the FSEU BITE
* Continuous monitoring
* Power up tests.
The NVM keeps data for the last 64 flight legs and a maximum of
465 failures (maximum of 116 failures in a flight leg). Flight leg 0
(LEG 0) is the current flight leg. Faults in flight leg 0 are faults
that occurred during the most recent flight and the faults that
occurred on the ground after the most recent flight. The flight
leg changes when:
* Airplane on ground > 30 seconds then goes in the air, and
* Airspeed > 60 knots.
This permits the flight leg to change during normal takeoffs, but
not during touch and go operations.
To find fault information from a specific flight leg, do these
steps:
* Go to the main menu
* Use the up or down arrow switches until you see FAULT
HISTORY? in the BITE display
* Push the YES switch
* Use the up or down arrow switches until you see the flight
leg that you want
* Push the YES switch.
The information for FAULT DETAILS? and SHOP DETAILS? is
the same as for the existing faults test.
