pressurized.
The reservoir pressurization module is pressurized by engine
bleed systems, the APU bleed system, or external air.
Standby system reservoir pressure is supplied by a fill and
balance line connected to the system B reservoir.
These are the reservoir pressurization system components:
* Reservoir pressurization module
* Orifice assembly
* Reservoir depressurization valve (2)
* Air pressure indicator (2)
* Pressure relief valve (2)
* Restrictor (5)
* Vent (4).
Location
The reservoir pressurization system components are in the
main landing gear wheel well.
Reservoir Pressurization Module
The reservoir pressurization module is on a bracket on the
forward bulkhead in the main landing gear wheel well.
The reservoir pressurization module mixes bleed air from both
engines or the APU bleed system for hydraulic reservoir
pressurization.
The reservoir pressurization module contains these
components:
* Check valve (2)
* Air filter
* Air charging valve.
The check valves isolate the left and right engine bleed systems
and prevent a loss of pneumatic pressure if either engine bleed
fails.
The non-bypass, cleanable, 15-20 micron, cartridge-type air
filter prevents contamination downstream in the system.
A manual bleed/air charging valve permits depressurization of
the reservoir pressurization module and pneumatic lines
upstream of the orifice assembly. It also allows ground
pressurization of the hydraulic system reservoirs for
maintenance.

Orifice Assembly
The orifice assembly is between the reservoir pressurization
module and the main hydraulic system reservoirs.
The orifice assembly sends pneumatic pressure from the
reservoir pressurization module to the system A and system B
reservoirs.
The orifice assembly contains these components:
* Check valve
* Restrictor (2).
A check valve and two restrictors upstream of both system A
and system B reservoirs prevent a loss of pneumatic pressure if
either reservoir depressurization valve fails.
Reservoir Depressurization Valves
The valves are between the reservoirs and reservoir
pressurization module.
The reservoir depressurization valves are used to manually
vent the related reservoir for maintenance. The reservoirs are
depressurized when air flow from the reservoir
depressurization valve stops.
Air Pressure Indicators
The air pressure indicators for hydraulic system A and B
reservoirs are between each reservoir depressurization valve
and the reservoir.
The indicators show the air pressure in the reservoirs.
Pressure Relief Valves
The relief valves are near the top of each hydraulic system A
and system B reservoir.
A pressure relief valve for each main reservoir opens when the
air pressure in the reservoir increases to 60-65 psi to protect the
reservoir. Excess pressure from either reservoir is vented
through the APU fuel line shroud drain mast.
Restrictors
Two restrictors are in the outgoing pressure lines in the orifice
assembly. One restrictor is in each incoming and outgoing
pressure lines at the reservoir depressurization module.
The restrictors prevent a loss of pneumatic duct pressure if
there is a failure downstream in the system.

Vents
Two vents are upstream of the reservoir pressurization module,
one is in the cleanable air filter, and one is upstream of the
orifice assembly.
The vents remove contaminants and moisture from the
pressurization system.
Training Information Point
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU REMOVE PRESSURE
FROM THE PNEUMATIC MANIFOLD. IF YOU DO
NOT REMOVE PRESSURE, INJURY TO PERSONS
AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR
WHEN YOU DISCONNECT THE PRESSURIZATION
MODULE.
Cleanable Air filter
Before you remove the cleanable air filter, you must remove the
air pressure in the reservoir pressurization system.
NOTE: If you remove pressure from the system B reservoir,
you also remove pressure from the standby system
