Location
The speedbrake RTO and takeoff warning switches are in the
P10 control stand. To get access, remove the manual stabilizer
trim wheel and the panel on the left side of the control stand.
Physical Description
The speedbrake RTO switch operates when the thrust reverser
levers move to the reverse thrust position. The thrust reverser
levers move the thrust reverser cam. The cam rotates the cam
follower. The cam follower rotates the lifting arm and operates
the speedbrake RTO switch. The lifting arm hits the lifting tab,
and this lifts the speedbrake lever.
The speedbrake takeoff warning switch operates when the
speedbrake lever moves out of the down detent. An actuating
arm on the speedbrake lever operates the speedbrake takeoff
warning switch when the speedbrake lever moves down into
the down detent.

Purpose
The engine throttle switches supply data to the auto speedbrake
module for the auto speedbrake function. The auto speedbrake
module uses this data to move the spoilers down after an auto
speedbrake operation.
Location
The engine throttle switches are on the autothrottle switchpacks
below the P10 control stand. To get access, go through the
forward lower nose compartment access door.
Physical Description
The engine throttle switches operate when the thrust levers
move more than the idle position (more than 44 degrees of
thrust resolver angle rotation).

Purpose
The auto speedbrake relays prevent the auto speedbrake
operation when the airplane altitude is more than 10 feet.
There are a total of seven auto speedbrake relays. Four of the
relays are controlled by the Auto Speedbrake Module. Two of
the relays are controlled by the Flight Control Computers
(FCCs). One relay is controlled by the Speedbrake Arming
Switch and the Speedbrake Refused Takeoff Switch.
Location
There are six auto speedbrake relays and one time delay in the
J20 junction box. There is one auto speedbrake relay in the J22
junction box. To get access to these junction boxes, go through
the access panels on the left side of the nose wheel well.
