DISPLAY CHAN SEL switch
(a)
Use of the DISPLAY CHAN SEL switch manually selects (enables) which channel of the FQPU will be used to provide fuel quantity data and fault code data to the fuel quantity indicating system (FQIS). The position of the DISPLAY CHAN SEL switch is of no consequence to normal FQIS operation. To prevent nuisance fault codes and nuisance status codes, do not place the DISPLAY CHAN SEL switch to the opposite position unless the FQPU display is blank. The DISPLAY CHAN SEL switch is a two-position toggle switch.
(9)
BIT switch
(a)
Use of the BIT switch will recall all fault codes stored in the nonvolatile memory. With the FQPU powered and the FQPU display blank, pushing the BIT switch will display a fault code, if any exists. Additional fault codes are displayed by repeatedly pushing the BIT switch. All fault codes will have been recalled when the status code 00 is displayed. The status code 00 signifies the end of the BIT sequence. If the BIT switch is not pressed within 36 seconds after a code is displayed, nonvolatile memory recall is deactivated and the FQPU display will blank.
(b)
DO NOT push the RESET or VERIFY switches on the FQPU during the
______
BIT procedure unless the FQPU display is off. If you push
theses switches, the faul tcode data will be lost or incorrect.
1) If you push the RESET switch during the BIT procedure, the
BIT procedure will stop immediately. The RESET procedure will then start. The F1 status code will show on the display.
2) IF you push the VERIFY switch during the BIT procedure, the BIT procedure will stop immediately. Then the VERIFY procedure will start. The F4 status code will show on the display.
(10)
RESET switch
(a)
Use of the RESET switch will clear all fault codes from the nonvolatile memory. Pushing the RESET switch will only provide a status code on the outcome or condition of the RESET operation. Pushing the RESET switch again will blank the FQPU display, if so desired. Once a fault condition has been corrected by maintenance action, the RESET switch should be used to clear that fault from the nonvolatile memory. Otherwise, that fault will remain stored in the nonvolatile memory and will result in confusion in subsequent maintenance operations.

(b) DO NOT push the RESET switch on the fuel quantity processor
______ unit (FQPU) before you make a written record of all the fault codes. When you push the RESET switch, it will erase all the fault codes kept in the FQPU memory.
