 VERIFY switch

 (a)  
Use of the VERIFY switch will do a complete self-test of the fuel quantity indicating system as though the airplane was airborne. The fueling station door must be closed in order to do the VERIFY operation. The 28v dc battery bus must be supplying power to the FQIS processor in order to do the VERIFY operation. Pushing the VERIFY switch will only supply a status code on the outcome or condition of the self-test. If a status code F6 is obtained, indicating that faults exist, the faults must be recalled from the nonvolatile memory by doing a BIT operation.

 (12)
 Initiation of any BITE procedure (BIT, VERIFY, or RESET) requires that the FQPU display be blank.

 (13)
 The PRESS TEST, BIT, VERIFY, and RESET switches on the FQIS processor must be held down for a minimum of one second in order to activate the desired operation. This is because it takes the FQPU one second to supply a ground for the fuel quantity indicating system.

 (14)
 When the airplane is on the ground and the fueling station door is in the closed position:

 (a)
EICAS status messages can be shown on the EICAS display.

 (15)
 If the airplane is put in the air mode, the FQPU will go into the takeoff mode. In this takeoff mode, fault recording and changes in EICAS status messages will be inhibited for 8 minutes.

 The airplane wiring harness is located external to the fuel tank. The airplane wiring harness begins at the FQPU connector and terminates at the LO-Z connector plug and the HI-Z bussing plug. The LO-Z connector plug and HI-Z bussing plug are found on the dry side of the front spar of the fuel tank.

 The tank wiring harness is found internal to the fuel tank.  The tank wiring harness begins at the LO-Z and HI-Z receptacles and terminates at the LO-Z, HI-Z shield, and HI-Z terminals on the tank units and compensator.
