GEORGIAN AIR NAVIGATION
 111

OPEN hearts,
qilft SKY!

Air traffic movements in Georgia have experienced a growth over the past four years and taking into account the planned advancement of the whole aviation infrastructure in Georgia it is clear that we at "SAKAERONAVIGATSIA" must once again make sure we can keep providing safe, orderly expeditious and efficient air traffic navigation and associated services.

Changing environment with the fast-growing technology is posing a new challenge to air traffic navigation infrastructure in Georgia but knowing the level of commitment and dedication of the "SAKAERONAVIGATSIA" staff I can confirm right now that I look into the future with growing optimism. In fact, we have already started to accelerate our action plans towards modernization to meet the increasing demands. We have fully implemented numerous modernized systems that enhance safety. Increase system capacity and improve efficiency. There are other new modernized systems in the pipeline. Of course, I cannot fully express my thankfulness to all our partners and clients for their constructive engagement and support over the past years.
The air space of Georgia is the most significant section of the Euro-Asian air corridor and we, with open hearts and safe sky, and with our commitment to development as a core issue, fully believe that the sky over Georgia will remain safe and welcoming.

The agency’s strategic business plan is based on both its Vision and its Mission.
Vision
By the end of 2010 the National Air Traffic Agency of Albania will be a fully certified, SES compliant Air Navigation Service Provider actively participating in the appropriate FAB.
Mission
Through our professionals and our assets we provide efficient and effective Air Navigation Services in the Albanian FIR. We do this in co-operation with our regional and Pan-European partners. We care for our customers and we continuously improve the quality of service.
NATA’s strategic objectives are:
1. Achieve SES certification in general
2. Achieve all objectives of the ASATC Programme set for NATA. This includes full alignment to SES requirements concerning:
a) Safety Management system (implementing related ESARRs).
b) Human Resources development and management.
c) Organisational excellence and reporting.
d) Strategic Management capabilities.
3. Achieve performance as is defined (or will be defined) in safety, capacity, cost efficiency and later
environmental performance.
4. Implement Interoperability across the service, in line with SES regulations.
5. A new air code is under development and will be in force end of this year.
Traffic figures have increased by about 4.8 per cent a year for overflight traffic and by over 5 per cent for landing and departures at Mother Teresa International Airport. More than 130,000 overflights are expected this year, which will help the major investment programme planned for the coming years. This year we will provide 24H radar service, including terminal radar as well, New ILS and additional 9 ATCO will allowed user
community to fly with out delay and in lov visibility conditions. Increasing 4% existing capacities will accommodate much better increasing demands. Growth in traffic volumes has boosted the company’s financial strength. A recently received $50 million loan will also give the company the ability to implement its invest¬ment programme comfortably. This is reflected in the unit rate trend below.
