Open the quick-release clamps.

Remove the detector elements.

Disconnect the electrical connectors at each end of the detector element to be removed.

Put caps on the electrical connectors for protection.

Discard the copper crush washers.

Remove the nut which holds the detector element to the end bracket of the support tube, at the two ends.

Remove the connectors from the end brackets.
F. Remove the Overheat Detector Elements

Disconnect the electrical connection and install a protective cap.

Remove the four screws (2) to remove the two clamps (4) on the detector responder.

Remove the safety wire if attached.

For the overheat detectors with a third clamp, remove the one nut (9), washer (10), and bolt (6) to remove clamp (8).
