 (5)  Install The Bearing.
 (a)  Install the bearing such that you can see the manufacturers number unless it is differently specified.
 NOTE: When you install a roller bearing, turn the rollers
____ in the relation to the outer race. This will make the incorrect operation of the rollers less possible. This will also help you to find an incorrect operation of the rollers.

CAUTION:_______ THE LARGE SPANNER NUTS FREQUENTLY HAVE SMALL BURRS AT THE
 SPANNER SLOTS.  THESE NUTS ATTACH THE MAIN BEARINGS OR THE
 SEALS TO THE SHAFTSAND HOUSINGS.  DO NOT INSTALL A SPANNER
 NUT REARWARD.  THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FACE OF THE

 BEARING OR THE SEAL.
 (b)  
Examine the spanner nut for burrs.

 (c)  
Remove the burrs from the spanner nut before you install the nut.

Procedure

 (1)  Install the lockstitch on the wire bundle.
 (a)  
Attach the lockstitch on the wire bundle at distances not more than 2.0 inches (50.8 mm) apart.

 (b)  
Use a clove hitch with an added loop followed by a square knot to make the lockstitch knot.

 NOTE:____The knots must be tight to the wire bundle. The knots must not cause unusual stress or damage.

 (c)  
If the wire bundle diameter is more than 1.5 inches (38.1 mm), attach the lockstitch two times at each location.

 (d)  
Cut the ends of the lockstitch to a length of 0.25-0.50 inches (6.35-12.7 mm).
