CAUTION: KEEP THE HOT OIL TANK CLOSED WHEN YOU DO NOT USE IT TO PREVENT
_______ CONTAMINATION.
DO NOT LET THE BEARING OR THE RACE STAY ON THE BOTTOM OF THE HOT OIL TANK. THIS CAN CAUSE THE BEARING OR THE RACE TO BECOME DIRTY WITH UNWANTED MATERIAL ON THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK. THIS CAN ALSO CAUSE THE PARTS TO BE PUT IN TEMPERATURES THAT ARE HIGHER THAN SHOWN.
CHANGE THE OIL AND CLEAN THE TANK REGULARLY TO DECREASE THE RISK OF CONTAMINATION.
(2) Put the bearing or the race in the hot oil tank that is full of engine oil.
NOTE: Make sure the oil is at a temperature of 225-250°F
____ (107-121°C). Keep the parts at least 3 inches (76.2 mm) above the bottom of the tank. Use a heavy screen or a group of rods to keep the parts off the bottom of the tank.
S 162-004-N00
(3)
Clean the unwanted oil off the journal with a clean lint free cloth.
S 642-005-N00
(4)
Apply a thin layer of the dry film lubricant to the journal.
S 422-006-N00
WARNING:_______DO NOT USE FORCE WHEN YOU INSTALL THE BEARING. IF THE BEARING IS HARD TO INSTALL, DISASSEMBLE THE PARTS. EXAMINE THE PARTS FOR BURRS AND THE CORRECT CLEARANCE. DAMAGE CAN OCCUR IF YOU USE FORCE TO ASSEMBLE THE PARTS.
