(e)
Repeat steps (c) and (d) for less than airplane heading and left roll. Return VG-1 to level and heading marker to airplane heading. Check that V-bars indicate zero command within 0 ±3 degrees.

(2)
F/O's Side:

(a)  For F/O's instruments, repeat step (1) using VG-2 instead of VG-1.

(3)
Repeat step (1) with VERTICAL GYRO transfer switch set to 1 ON AUX, using VG-AUX, and check for same results.

(4)
Repeat step (2) with VERTICAL GYRO transfer switch set to 2 ON AUX, using VG-AUX, and check for same results.

(5)
Return VERTICAL GYRO transfer switch to NORMAL.

(6)
Rotate synch knob on each RMI and check that capt's ADI V-bars respond to F/O's RMI sync knob and that F/O's ADI V-bars respond to capt's RMI sync knob.

(7)
Set COMPASS transfer switch to BOTH ON 2 and rotate the synch knob on F/O's RMI. Check that both V-bars respond.

(8)
Set COMPASS transfer switch to BOTH ON 1 and rotate the synch knob on capt's RMI. Check that both V-bars respond.

(9)
Return COMPASS transfer switch to NORMAL and resynchronize compass systems. Check that both V-bars indicate zero command.

C.  Pitch Command Mode Tests
(1)  Capt's Side and F/O's Sides:
(a)
Set PITCH CMD knob CW 15 degrees. Check that V-bars indicate a 9 ±3 degrees pitch up command and return to zero command with 15 ±3 degrees pitch up tilt of VG-1.

(b)
Level VG-1.

(c)
Rotate pitch knob CCW to obtain a 10 degree pitch down command. Check that V-bars indicate a 6 ±2 degree pitch down command and return to zero command with 10 ±2 degrees pitch down tilt of VG-1.

(d)
Set PITCH CMD knob to zero and level VG.

(e)
Repeat steps (a) thru (d) using VG-AUX for Capt's side with VERTICAL GYRO transfer switch set to 1 ON AUX.

(f)
Repeat steps (a) thru (d) using VG-AUX for F/O's side with VERTICAL GYRO transfer switch set to 2 ON AUX.

(g)
Return VERTICAL GYRO transfer switch to NORMAL.

D.  ALT HOLD Mode Test
(1)
Capt's Side:

(a)
Set static pressure altitude to 2000 feet and set ALT HOLD switch on flight director mode selector to ON. Check that V-bars indicate zero degrees command with 0 ±3 degrees of VG-1 tilt and for green ALT HOLD APD annunciator.

CAUTION:  DAMAGE MAY RESULT FROM MISUSE OF AIR PRESSURE. RATE OF ALTITUDE CHANGE MUST NOT EXCEED 5000 FEET PER MINUTE AND CHANGE OF STATIC PRESSURE ALTITUDE MUST NOT EXCEED 1000 FEET AFTER ALT HOLD SWITCH IS ON. REFER TO 34-11-0 FOR CAUTIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS ON APPLYING STATIC PRESSURE ALTITUDE.

(b)
Rotate PITCH CMD knob both clockwise and counterclockwise and return to zero. Check V-bars do not respond to knob rotation.

(c)
Slowly reduce static pressure to increase altitude to 2250 feet. Check that V-bars indicate 5 士2 degrees pitch down command.

(d)
Slowly increase static pressure to increase1750 feet. Check that V-bars indicate 5 士2

degrees pitch up command.

(e)
Return static pressure altitude to 2000 feet. Tilt VG-1 to 20 degrees pitch up. Check

that V-bars indicate pitch down command. After 45 seconds, slowly reduce VG-1 tilt until V-bars indicate zero command. Check VG-1 tilt is 12 士3 degrees pitch up.

(f)
Level VG. After 45 seconds, tilt VG-1 to 20 degrees pitch down. Check that V-bars indicate pitch up command. After 45 seconds, slowly reduce tilt until V-bars indicate zero command. Check that tilt angle is 12士3 degrees pitch down.

(g)
Open AIR DATA CMPTR-1 CRT BKRS (AC & 26VAC).

(h)
Check that ALT HOLD switch on the FLT DIR Mode Controller remains ON.

(i)
Return static pressure to ambient. Level VG-1 and close AIR DATA COMPTR-1 CRT BKRS.

(2)
F/O's Side:

(a)  Repeat steps (1)(a) thru (1)(i) using first officer's components and VG-2 instead of VG-1.
D.  VOR/LOC Mode Tests
(1)
 Captain's Side:

(a)
For captain's instruments, tune No. 1 VOR/ILS receiver to a VOR test frequency and set mode selector to HDG.

(b)
Set VOR signal generator to a 180-degree radial. (A radial is the signal as it extends along a line in a magnetic direction from the station, specified by a number of the radial. For example, zero radial extends north of the station; 90-degree radial extends east of the station.)
