11. Control
A. The PDC system is turned on by closing the performance data computer, air data and on GJ B-2509 and B-2510 PDCS MODE ANN circuit breakers on the P6 and P18 panel.

The system is initialized by pressing the LOAD key and entering the following data with, CLEAR, SEL, ENT and PAGE keys.

Reserve Fuel (RSV + ALT) - lbs

A system self-test may be performed in the STBY mode, SELF-TEST 3-3 page, with all systems that provide input signals to the PDCS operating.
(a)
If the self-test is successfully completed a VALID will be displayed. An INVALID message and diagnostic message will display for system failures.
(b)
The ENGAGE button will illuminate when VALID is displayed, and when pressed will cause the EPR command bugs to drive to 2.40 and then 1.00 where they will stow, and the Mode Annunciator Legends will illuminate sequentially, beginning and ending with no display.

PERFORMANCE DATA COMPUTER SYSTEM - TROUBLE SHOOTING
1. General
A. The following trouble shooting procedures are based on performance of the self-test and are presented in tree-type format. The test steps are connected by lines to show the next step or steps in the procedure. When all steps in a path check out, the system is operable.
B. When a test step does not check out, follow the connecting line to the box containing the trouble symptom. Continue to follow a single line by analyzing the results of each test step until the required corrective action is determined. Perform the specified corrective action, then repeat the step at which the failure was encountered.
C. All trouble shooting procedures are based on the assumption that wiring is OK and that electrical power is available. If the corrective action in the procedure does not correct the problem, check wiring using the wiring diagram.
D. The self-test available in the STBY mode (Fig. 101) is utilized as an aid in trouble shooting. During self-test, diagnostic messages are displayed on the PDC CDU and fault lights illuminate on the PDC front panel indicating system invalid conditions and failures. Also test values are engaged to the Mach/Airspeed and EPR indicator command bugs when the ENGAGE button is pressed. The BITE test in the TEST mode of STBY (Fig. 102) can be used as an indication of discrete signal status and valid status of PDCS interfaces. The system options (configuration interlock parameters) status is also displayed. The location and logic status of each parameter in the TEST display is shown in the table in Fig. 102.
2. Prepare for Trouble Shooting
A. Check that required performance data computer system and air data system circuit breakers on P6 and P18 panel are closed.
B. Set flight mode selector to standby.
C. Provide electrical power.
D. Activate systems providing an input to performance data computer system.
