PERFORMANCE DATA COMPUTER CONTROL DISPLAY UNIT - SERVICING (RELAMPING)
EFFECTIVITY
CDU with Access Plate above Engage Annunciator
1. General
A. The Performance Data Computer (PDC) control display unit is located on the forward electronics panel.
2. Equipment and Materials
A. Engage Lamp Replacement Tool - Symbolic Displays, Inc., P/N 702188
B. Engage Lamp - Symbolic Displays, Inc., P/N 206015
3. Relamp Engage Key (Fig. 201)
A. Lamp Removal
(1)
Open Performance Data Computer (PDC) circuit breaker on P18-2 panel.
(2)
Loosen captive screw on annunciator access cover plate.
(3)
Twist plate sideways.
(4)
Using engage lamp replacement tool, work rubber tubing around outside of lamp.
(5)
Withdraw tool from panel, without pressing thumb button.
(6)
Depress thumb button to eject lamp from tool.
B. Lamp Installation
(1)
Insert new lamp into rubber tubing with leads facing out.
(2)
Verify leads are not bent and appear evenly spaced prior to insertion.
(3)
Insert lamp into annunciator cavity, holding tool so leads are perpendicular to surface of keyboard panel.
(4)
Gently twist tool until lamp leads match up with mating holes in socket base and then insert lamp fully into base.
(5)
Depress thumb button.
(6)
Remove tool from annunciator cavity.
(7)
Twist annunciator plate sideways so white beveled edge is facing up; tighten captive screw.
C. Test Performance Data Computer Engage Lamp
(1)
Provide external electrical power (Ref 24-22-00).
(2)
Close PDC circuit breaker on P18-2 panel.
(3)
Position PDC mode select switch to standby.
(4)
Press forward page key twice; check engage key annunciator light is illuminated.
(5)
Remove external power if PDC is no longer required.

PERFORMANCE DATA COMPUTER CONTROL DISPLAY UNIT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. The PDC Control Display unit is located on the P9 forward electronics panel. The CDU is held in place by four Dzus quick-release fasteners.
2. Referenced Procedures
A. 34-18-0, Performance Data Computer - Adjustment/Test
3. Removal
A. Ensure that PDCS circuit breaker on the P18 panel is open.
B. Turn the four Dzus fasteners on CDU front panel to release.
C. Pull CDU forward and remove connector at rear.
4. Installation
A. Attach connector at rear of CDU.
B. Insert CDU and set the four Dzus fasteners on the CDU front panel to lock position.
C. Perform PDCS operational test (Ref 34-18-0, A/T).

PERFORMANCE DATA COMPUTER MODE ANNUNCIATOR UNIT -REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. The Mode Annunciator Unit is located on the upper P2 panel and held in place by an instrument clamp attached to the rear of the instrument panel behind the panel cutout.
2. Referenced Procedures
A. 34-18-0, Performance Data Computer - Adjustment/Test
3. Mode Annunciator Unit Removal
A. Ensure that PDC circuit breaker on the P18 panel is open.
B. Loosen upper right and lower left (clamp adjusting) screws.
NOTE: Do not loosen upper left or lower right (mounting) screws. These screws hold the clamp in place behind the panel.
C. Press on clamp adjusting screws to loosen clamp.
D. Pull annunciator out from panel and remove rear connectors.
