R  B. Crimping with Fixed-Die Crimping Tools 
R  Using table below, select crimping tool according to wire and terminal to 
R  be crimped. Check tool condition, appearance and operation between two 
R  periodic checks. 
R  C. Insulation Crimping Adjustment Procedure 
R  (1) The insulation crimp section of each tool has three adjustment 
R  positions. 
R  (2) To perform adjustment, remove insulation adjustment pin from its 
R  housing and insert it in appropriate position. 
R  (3) Correct insulation grip is determined as follows : 
R  - Insert adjustment pin in No. 3 position. 
R  - Place terminal in crimping dies as for normal crimping. 
R  - Take wire appropriate to terminal and insert unstripped wire into 
R  only the insulation grip portion of the terminal. 
R  If two wires are crimped in the same terminal, perform grip test 
R  with two wires. 
R  - Crimp terminal 
R  - Remove terminal and check insulation grip as follows : bend wire 
R  back and forth, terminal sleeve should retain grip on wire 
R  insulation.

R  - If wire pulls out, set insulation adjustment pin to No. 2 position 
R  and repeat test. 
R  - If test results are not satisfactory, set adjustment pin to No. 1 
R  position.
