Where possible, keep the tractor aligned with the aircraft centerline. The maximum lateral position that is permitted is the width of the aircraft wheelbase. (Ref. Fig. 213/TASK 09-10-00-991-016)
NOTE : During the towing operations, put:

-two persons to monitor the wing tips.

A. Visual Inspection
(1) When you have completed the towing operation make sure that the nose wheels are aligned with the aircraft centerline.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
On the panel 110VU:
-set the PARKING BRK control switch to ON.
(2)
On the panel 400VU:
-make sure that the pressure indication on the Yellow brake-pressure triple-indicator is correct. The pointer must be in the green range.
-if necessary, pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-863-002).

C. Removal of the Towing Cable and the Towing Attachment

(1)
Remove the BAR - STEERING NOSE WHEEL (98A09003000001) from the nose landing gear.
(2)
Remove the CABLE, TOWING - MLG (98A09001002000) or CABLE, TOWING -MLG (98A09003500000) from the main landing gear.

(3) Remove the ATTACHMENT DE-BOGGING (98D09104001000) from each main landing gear.

D. Install Unit/Component
(Ref. Fig. 211/TASK 09-10-00-991-017)
(1)
Put the rod end of the lower slave link sub-assembly in position.
(2)
Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-047) on the plain shank of the bolt (9).
(3)
Install the bolt (9), the sleeve (8), the washer (5) and the nut (6). TORQUE the nut (6) to between 2.1 and 2.7 m.daN (15.48 and 19.91 lbf.ft).
(4)
Install the new split pin (7).
(5)
Make sure that the lower slave link sub-assembly is free to turn around the bolt (9).
(6)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-004) on the bolt (9) and nut (6).
(7)
Put the block (4) in position on the flexible hoses and loosely install bolts (3), the washers (2) and the nuts (1).
(8)
Make sure that the dimension Y is 150 mm (5.9055 in.).
(9)
TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 0.4 and 0.45 m.daN (35.39 and 39.82 lbf.in).

E. Set the Lighting System and the Communication System to this
configuration:

On the panel 25VU
-
set the EXT LT/NAV & LOGO switch to OFF,
-
set the EXT LT/BEACON switch to OFF,
-
set the INT LT/DOME switch to OFF.
(2)
On the panel 60VU, disconnect the boomset. Release the VHF1 if there is communication between the control tower and the cockpit.
(3)
On the panel 108VU, disconnect the boomset.

F. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(2)
Remove the PIN (D23156000).
(3)
Set the ground-towing control lever to the normal position.
(4)
On the upper ECAM DU, on the MEMO page:
-the N WHEEL STEERG DISC indication goes out of view.
(5)
Do an EIS stop procedure (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(6)
Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system
(Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
