C. Installation of the Towing Strap and Towing Cable

WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THE NLG DOWNLOCK SAFETY PIN AND THE TWO DOOR

SAFETY PINS ARE INSTALLED.
(1)
Use a towing strap with the properties that follow:
-Length 2160 mm (85.0394 in.)
-Width 100 mm (3.9370 in.)
-Safe working load 13000 daN (29225.1570 lbf).
(2)
Wind the towing strap around the bottom of the MLG shock absorber and the axles.
NOTE : Make sure the towing strap does not touch the links of the
____
MLG.
(3)
Connect the CABLE, TOWING - MLG (98A09001002000) or CABLE, TOWING -MLG (98A09003500000) to the towing strap.
(4)
Put the movable taxiway plates in front of the wheels to make the ground solid.
(5)
Connect the CABLE, TOWING - MLG (98A09001002000) or CABLE, TOWING -MLG (98A09003500000) to the tractor.

-If communication is necessary between the aircraft and the control tower, on the RMP (Radio Management Panel) 11VU, push the VHF1 pushbutton switch. On the panel 60VU, connect a boomset.
(3)
Flight Interphone System
-On the panel 108VU, connect a boomset to the FLT INT socket. This lets you speak to the cockpit.

_______ INCLUDED), EACH PERSON IN THE AIRCRAFT MUST BE IN A SEAT AND THE SEAT BELT MUST BE FASTENED. IF THE SEAT BELT IS NOT FASTENED, THERE IS A RISK OF INJURY IF THE AIRCRAFT STOPS SUDDENLY.

Where possible, keep the tractor aligned with the aircraft centerline. The maximum lateral position that is permitted is the width of the aircraft. (Ref. Fig. 205/TASK 09-10-00-991-004)
NOTE : During the towing operations, put:

-two persons to monitor the wing tips.
