If any surface not restored -
2. Also refer to Hydraulic Flow Diagram and the
appropriate FCS procedures.

HYD CAUTIONS
INDICATOR · CAUSE / REMARKS CORRECTIVE ACTION
HYD 2A
· HYD circuit 2A pressure low (<1,400 psi).
HYD 2A is the first circuit shutdown during RLS
operation for HYD 2. If caution remains without
switching to HYD 2B, the leak was successfully
isolated in HYD 2A.
With HYD 2A failed, the following utility hydraulic
functions are lost: landing gear retraction/
normal extension, normal NWS, normal braking
including anti-skid, probe retraction/normal extension,
and launch bar extension.
Following loss of HYD 2A, the right LEF switching
valve should switch to the backup circuit. If the
surface Xs, there is no hazard associated with multiple
FCS RESET attempts to restore the surface.
1. Slow below 380 KCAS (if practical).
If right LEF Xs -
2. FCS RESET button - PUSH (multiple times if
required)
If right LEF not restored -
3. Refer to Hydraulic Flow Diagram and the
FLAPS OFF caution procedure.
If caution remains with no FCS Xs -
3. Land as soon as practical.
FOR LANDING
4. Jettison unwanted stores prior to gear extension.
5. Perform Landing Gear Emergency Extension
Procedure.
6. Probe switch - EMERG EXTD (if required)
7. FLAP switch - HALF or FULL (for landing)
8. Make an arrested landing (if practical).
If arrested landing not practical (e.g., short
field gear not available) -
8. Make a normal landing.
9. Use emergency brakes with steady brake pressure
(do not pump). (Anti-skid is not available.)
10. Consider paddle switch - PRESS after touchdown
to preserve APU ACCUM pressure for
slow-speed NWS.
Once stopped or clear of runway -
11. Do not taxi.
HYD 2B
· HYD circuit 2B pressure low (<1,400 psi).
HYD 2B is the second circuit shutdown during
RLS operation for HYD 2. If caution remains,
the leak was successfully isolated in HYD 2B.
If lowered, the hook cannot be retracted. Following
loss of HYD 2B, the right rudder and left aileron
switching valves should switch to their backup
circuits. If either surface Xs, there is no hazard associated
with multiple FCS RESET attempts to
restore the surface.
1. Maintain airspeed below 380 KCAS (if practical).
If right rudder or left aileron X -
2. FCS RESET button - PUSH (multiple times if
required)
If either surface not restored -
3. Refer to Hydraulic Flow Diagram and the appropriate
FCS procedures.
If caution remains with no FCS Xs -
3. Land as soon as practical.

HYD 2A
HYD 2B
· HYD circuits 2A and 2B pressure low (<1,400
psi).
(1) Both circuits lost due to a HYD 2 leak which
could not be isolated by RLS.
(2) HYD pump shaft shear (simultaneous cautions
with no pressure fluctuations).
(3) HYD pump internal failure (simultaneous
cautions). May be accompanied by pressure
fluctuations or the HYD2 HOT caution.
(4) Power transmission shaft failure (accompanied
by R GEN, R DC FAIL, and R BOOST
LO cautions).
If dual HYD 2A and 2B cautions were caused by
a loss of fluid (RLS cycling), there should be no
hazard associated with leaving the engine running
at IDLE.
1. Throttle affected engine - IDLE
2. Slow below 380 KCAS (if practical).
3. HYD pressure gauge - Check for pressure fluctuations.
If pressure fluctuations noted and RLS not
cycled -
4. Throttle affected engine - OFF
If HYD2 HOT caution never displayed -
5. Consider restart for landing.
If single engine -
6. Refer to Single Engine Approach and Landing
Procedure.
7. Land as soon as practical.
If no pressure fluctuations or if RLS cycled-
4. Land as soon as practical.
5. Execute the HYD 2A For Landing Procedures.
If right rudder, left aileron, or right LEF X -
A. FCS RESET button - PUSH (multiple times if
required)
If surface(s) not restored -
B. Also refer to Hydraulic Flow Diagram and the
appropriate FCS procedures.
HYD 1B
HYD 2B
· HYD circuits 1B and 2B pressure low (<1,400
psi). May be caused by battle damage or a dual
circuit HYD leak (e.g., in the left aileron actuator).
Left aileron lost (faired and damped).
