I- 10 ZONING
‘I- 10.1 INTRODUCTION
‘The purpose of this system is to locate and identify the
various zones in the aircraft.
The system adop:ed is based on the A.T.A. 1Q5 Specification
and complies with the rules laid down by the
Airline Supersonic Committee (Concorde) and varies only
to accommodateparticular constructional differences.
A zone reference chart showing the complete airframe
breakdown into zones is reproduced on page

1. The system is based on a three figure number which is
made up as follows : .

4. Zones. These are divisions of Major Sub-Zones e.g.
110 is divided into 111,112, 113 e+d.
For definitions of Zones see tables on pages 22 -
25 to 27.

5. Combination of two Zones. When it is advantageous
to combine two zones, it is shown thus : 233/4.
e.g. 233/4 indicates the complete cabin zone between
frames 54 and 66.
