the Ministry of Transport, the Electronic Navigation
Research Institute and the Japanese Air Traffic
Controller Association visited EUROCONTROL Headquarters.
The visit included a tour of the CFMU operations room.
On 5 November an Israeli delegation, comprising
representatives from the Israeli Air Force and the
Mission of Israel to the European Communities,
was received at Headquarters. Presentations on the role of
EUROCONTROL, civil-military cooperation in ATM, airspace
security and air traffic controller qualification were all part of the
programme, together with a tour of the CFMU ops room.

and key activities of the EUROCONTROL
Agency on 10 November.
Agreement
On 13 November 2008 EUROCONTROL, represented by
its Director General, Mr David McMillan, and the Ministry of
Transport of the Czech Republic, represented by the Director
General of Civil Aviation, Mr Jaromir Stolc, signed a Special
Agreement in Brussels.
Under this agreement, EUROCONTROL will undertake an independent
review of the environmental noise impact assessment
study, which has been commissioned by the Prague airport
operator, in conjunction with the proposal for the construction
of a new runway at Prague Airport in order to cope with the
expected increase in traffic in the long term.
