5.57 - Moved discussion about not centering the rudder trim to the section
titled Engine Inoperative, Rudder Trim - All Instrument Approaches, this
chapter.
Stop and Go Landings

note is the standard format for displaying information essential to emphasize
in the FCTM.

Go–Around and Missed Approach - All Engines Operating
5.64 - Modified paragraph to indicate that during training, at 1,000 feet AGL
acceleration is initiated before flaps are retracted.
Go–Around and Missed Approach - One Engine Inoperative
5.65 - Modified condition when maximum continuous is selected to indicate
that flaps need not be fully retracted. During some conditions, such as when
another approach will be flown at the same airfield, the pilot may elect to
leave some flaps extended during maneuvering.
Chapter 6 - Landing
VASI Landing Geometry
6.4 - Reformatted recommendation about the use of a two bar VASI system
to be more direct. The note is the standard format for displaying information
essential to emphasize in the FCTM.
Flare and Touchdown
6.9 - Added reference to one engine inoperative landings.
Go-Around after Touchdown
6.11 - Changed title from Rejected Landing to eliminate reference to a
Rejected Landing Procedure. There is no procedure with this title. Removed
description of the normal go-around procedure. The normal go-around
procedure is described in Chapter 5.
After Touchdown and Landing Roll
6.22 - Removed the caution and placed the text in paragraph format. The
caution format is not normally used in the FCTM because a very high
percentage of text could result in damage to equipment if not carefully
followed. For example, the next paragraph discusses tailstrike which has the
same potential for airplane damage.
Wheel Brakes
6.28 - Added information about transition from autobrakes to manual
braking. Added new section title to make information easier to locate.
Crosswind Landing Techniques
6.36 - Removed section titled Rejected Landing and replaced it with a section
titled Go-Around after Touchdown located under Flare and Touchdown.

Chapter 7 - Maneuvers
Recovery from a Fully Developed Stall
7.18 - Modified sentence to indicate what the pilot actually applies (control
column and stabilizer trim).
Traffic Advisory (TA)
7.21 - Corrected text to read Traffic Avoidance maneuver instead of Traffic
Avoidance recall procedure.
Resolution Advisory (RA)
7.21 - Removed reference to the red band on the VSI. This is an option on the
737 Classic airplane only.
7.21 - Added guidance about modifying flight profiles in anticipation of
avoiding resolution advisories.
Chapter 8 - Non-Normal Operations
Preface
8.1 - Added reference to guidance for situations beyond the scope of NNCs.
Approach and Landing
8.2 - Added new section. Moved some information from the section titled
Flight Controls because these considerations also apply for other non-normal
conditions. Moved some information about approach during non-normal
situations from the section titled Situations Beyond the Scope of Non-Normal
Checklists. This information applies to all non-normal situations, whether a
NNC is available or not.
Landing at the Nearest Suitable Airport
8.2 - Removed the note about the requirement for a written report if the
pilot-in-command lands at an airport other than the nearest suitable airport.
This is an FAR requirement and is better explained in the FAR.
Engine Tailpipe Fire
8.5 - Added new section discussing engine tailpipe fires for crew awareness.
Recommended Technique for an In-Flight Engine Shutdown
8.7 - Added a new section to discuss crew coordination requirements and
provide a Boeing recommended technique for an in-flight engine shutdown.
