0.4 Preface-Revision Record Revision Record
General
The Boeing Company issues Flight Crew Training Manual revisions to provide
new or revised recommendations on maneuvers and techniques, or information
supporting changes in operations manual procedures. Revisions may also
incorporate appropriate information from previously issued flight technical
bulletins. Revisions reflect the most current information available to The Boeing
Company through the subject revision date.
Formal revisions include a new Revision Record, Revision Highlights, and a
current List of Effective Pages. Use the information on the new Revision Record
and List of Effective Pages to verify the Flight Crew Training Manual content.
Pages containing revised technical material have revision bars associated with the
changed text or illustration. Editorial revisions (for example, spelling corrections)
may have revision bars with no associated highlight.
This revised FCTM is provided in quantities as specified in each operator’s
contract. Additional copies are available through the Boeing Data and Services
Management (DSM) Catalog. The manual is also available in FRAME format for
use in airline modification. Advise if information about FRAME format is
required.
Filing Instructions
This revision is a complete reprint of the FCTM as indicated on the List of
Effective Pages (0.5). Remove all old pages and replace all new pages. However,
retain all tabs. There are no replacement tabs included with this revision.
Revision Highlights
This section (0.4) replaces the existing section 0.4 in your manual.

0.4.2 FCT 767 (TM)
This manual is published from a database; the text and illustrations are marked
with configuration information. Occasionally, because data base markers are
rearranged, or because items are marked with configuration information due to the
additions of new database content, some pages may contain revision bars when
content appears to be unchanged. Pages may also be republished without revision
bars due to slight changes in the flow of the document.
Chapter 0 - Preface
Section 3 - Abbreviations
0.3.1 - Added several new abbreviations throughout this chapter.
0.3.3 - Corrected meaning of IAN.
0.3.4 - Added pilot monitoring (PM) to the abbreviation list. In accordance
with FAA Advisory Circular number 120-71A, the term pilot not flying
(PNF) is being replaced with the term pilot monitoring (PM). The circular
states that it makes better sense to characterize pilots by what they are doing
rather than by what they are not doing. This change appears in many locations
throughout this revision and will appear in revisions to the FCOM during
2005.
Section 4 - Revision Record
0.4.2 - Added information clarifying the use of revision bars in this manual.
Chapter 1 - General Information
Pilot Area of Responsibility
1.2 - Modified description of pilot area of responsibility to match the
modified description in the FCOM.
Non-Normal Conditions
1.15 - Corrected speed additive example from VREF 20 + 20 to VREF 30 +
20.
Bug Setting (MASI)
1.16 - Corrected takeoff bug setting from the "takeoff flap maneuvering
speed" to "flap 5 maneuvering speed".
Bug Setting (EFIS/Speed Tape)
1.17 - Removed reference to "flaps 5" for takeoff in the diagram. The
principles of positioning the reference bugs apply to any takeoff flap setting.
