REPAIR
1. General
A. In most cases repair consists of replacement of damaged parts.
B. Structural repairs to unit beyond described herein require Bolder Mfg. evaluation. Airline must submit a written description and photograph of damaged area to Bolder Mfg. for repair instruction
C. Airlines may choose to have a qualified and authorized engineering personnel operating under a valid FAA Repair Station to disposition the damage and issue a repairs instruction and obtain proper certification.
D. Periodic inspection for damage and excessive wear of parts is recommended.
E. Except for permissible repairs outlined in this section, repair of detailed parts and components is not considered practical or reliable; certain structural subassemblies are not separately procurable; if damaged, procure next higher assembly. Refer to illustrated parts list for details.
F. In addition to permissible repairs and replacement of defective parts, certain routine parts replacement shall be conducted at each overhaul, regardless of apparent condition of the parts. All attaching parts (screws, bolts, washers and nuts) if removed during disassembly procedure, shall be routinely replaced at each overhaul, regardless of apparent condition.
G. See Figure 6001 - Decorative Finish for the appropriate location of decorative materials used on this unit.
2. Metal Parts
A. Scratches no longer than 1 inch and no deeper than 15% of the material thickness, and dents no deeper than 25% of the material thickness DO NOT require repair and are considered insignificant in structural strength.
B. Remove minor scratches, stains and corrosion by light buffing; however care should be taken not to penetrate the plating.
