GPWS - TEST
Test
You use the test switch on the ground proximity warning module to start a test of the ground proximity warning system. There are two tests. A GPWS confidence test and full vocabulary test. The two tests make sure there are no failures with the internal operation of the ground proximity warning computer. The tests also make sure that all data bus inputs are valid.
Confidence Test
Momentarily push the test switch on the ground proximity warning module to start the confidence test. The confidence test gives the short vocabulary test. This is the sequence for the confidence test:
-The glideslope P-INHIBIT light comes on. The INOP light on the GPWS control panel comes on. The GPWC gives the aural message GLIDESLOPE.
-The glideslope P-INHIBIT light goes off. The INOP light remains on. The PULL UP message shows on the ADI displays and the GPWC gives the aural message WHOOP WHOOP PULL UP.
-The INOP light goes off. The WINDSHEAR message shows on the ADI displays and the GPWC gives the aural message WINDSHEAR WINDSHEAR WINDSHEAR.
Full Vocabulary Test
Push and hold the test switch on the ground proximity warning module for approximately 5 seconds to do a full vocabulary test. The full vocabulary test does the same internal test and data bus input test as the confidence test. However, the full vocabulary test gives the long vocabulary test. The long vocabulary test goes through the confidence test, then gives all the aural messages for all GPWS modes and any option callouts selected.

GPWS - SELF-TEST - LEVEL ONE General
The ground proximity warning system (GPWS) has six levels of self-test. Each level provides different information about the GPWS. These are the six levels of self-test:
-GO/NO-GO operational test
-Current faults
-System configuration
-Fault history
-Alert/warning history
-Discrete input test.
Level one is the GO/NO-GO operational test. A level one test provides visual and aural annunciations on the flight deck.
Level One Test Preparation
These conditions must be true to do a level one test of the GPWS:
-Airplane on ground -GPWS power on -EFIS ND mode selector in correct mode (expanded APP, VOR,
MAP, and centered MAP)
-TERR switch on EFIS control panel (CP) selected
-All interfacing systems installed and energized.
Level One Test Procedure
Use the test switch on the ground proximity warning module to begin a level one test. A level one test first does a test of these configuration conditions:
737-700 MAINTENANCE TRAINING MANUAL
-Program pin parity
-Airplane configuration database validity
-Airplane type.
If the test finds a configuration fault, the self-test annunciates the fault and the self-test ends. If the GPWS passes the configuration test, the level one test continues. 中国航空网 www.aero.cn 航空翻译 www.aviation.cn 本文链接地址:737-700 AVIONCS BITE HANDBOOK 航电自测设备手册 2(25)
