Use MEK, acetone, isopropyl alcohol, or ethyl alcohol to remove the paint or contamination in 1/2-inch wide strip on the remaining tape around the area to be repaired.

Apply the new tape on the repair area with minimum of 1/2-inch overlap on the old tape.
NOTE: Use your fingers to push the new tape tightly in position.
