 -with the APU (Ref. TASK 12-33-21-618-001) or with the HP ground-air supply unit (Ref. TASK 12-33-21-618-001).
 NOTE : You must close the access door 811 for this procedure.

 C. Calculation of the Pressure.
 (1)
 Use the pressure indicator to measure the ambient pressure (Pamb).

 (2)
 Calculate and write the values below:

 -
Value A = Pamb + 280 mbar (4.06 psi)


 -
Value B = Pamb + 580 mbar (8.41 psi)


 -
Value C = Pamb + 560 mbar (8.12 psi)


 -
Value D = Pamb + 550 mbar (7.97 psi)
 The values A and B are necessary to monitor the system.
 The values C and D are necessary to measure the leakage rate.

 A. Procedure to Measure the Leakage Rate
 WARNING : DO NOT LET THE CABIN ALTITUDE CHANGE TOO FAST. SUDDEN CHANGES

 IN PRESSURE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.

 WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE IS NOT MORE THAN THE

 VALUE SPECIFIED FOR THIS TEST.

 WARNING : DO NOT USE THE ECAM DISPLAYS TO READ THE CABIN PRESSURE
_______ PARAMETERS (CABIN DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE, CABIN ALTITUDE, CABIN VERTICAL- SPEED) DURING THIS TEST. THE PRESSURES USED IN THIS TEST ARE MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM LIMIT OF THE RELATED PRESSURE SENSOR. WHEN THESE PRESSURES BECOME MORE THAN THE PRESSURE SENSOR LIMIT, ON THE ECAM DISPLAY:
 -
THE CABIN DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE INDICATION BECOMES AMBER XX

 -
THE CABIN ALTITUDE INDICATION BECOMES AMBER XX

 -
THE CABIN VERTICAL-SPEED INDICATION IS NO LONGER CORRECT. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THE CORRECT CABIN PRESSURE VALUES, YOU CAN MAKE UNWANTED CHANGES IN PRESSURE THAT CAN CAUSE INJURY.

 


 NOTE : This procedure uses the MAN V/S CTL switch on the CABIN PRESS
____ section of the panel 25VU to control the cabin pressure. This switch, spring loaded to neutral, controls the outflow valve position:
 -UP: the outflow valve moves to the open position (the cabin pressure decreases)
 -DN: the outflow valve moves to the closed position (the cabin
 pressure increases)
 We recommend:

 -short action on this switch (do not hold the switch in the UP or DN position)
 -that you monitor the cabin vertical speed indication to prevent sudden changes in cabin pressure.
 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------ACTION RESULT -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
-adjust the cabin temperature control as necessary.
2. On the CABIN PRESS section of the panel 25VU:
-set the MAN V/S CTL switch to DN and release, the switch moves to the neutral position. Do this operation several times. This closes the outflow valve.
 NOTE : The cabin vertical speed
____ must not be more than 500 ft.min (152.39 m.min).
 -stop when you get a cabin pressure of value A (Pamb + 280 mbar (4.06 psi)).
 3. With the MAN/V/S CTL switch in the UP or DN position, keep the pressure stable at value A (Pamb
+ 280 mbar (4.06 psi)) for 5 minutes.
On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
-make sure that the FAULT legend ofthe PACK 1 and PACK 2 pushbutton switches is off.
 Air blows into the fuselage.
On the vertical speed indicator:
-
the cabin vertical speed must not be

more than 500 ft.min (152.39 m.min).On the pressure indicator:

-
the cabin pressure increases to valueA (Pamb + 280 mbar (4.06 psi)).


Tell ground personnel to walk around
the aircraft and do a check for
leakage.
On the vertical speed indicator:

-the cabin vertical speed is 0. On the pressure indicator:

4. Use the same method as in step 2 to increase cabin pressure to value B (Pamb + 580 mbar (8.41 psi)).
