4 Identify an engine fuel leak by verifying that a left
or right main fuel tank quantity is decreasing faster
than the other.
[Metric Units]
5 An increase in a fuel imbalance of approximately
500 kgs or more in 30 minutes should be
considered a fuel leak.
[English Units]
6 An increase in a fuel imbalance of approximately
1000 lbs or more in 30 minutes should be
considered a fuel leak.
7 If conditions allow, visually check for an engine
fuel leak.

Fuel Leak
Condition: An in-flight fuel leak is suspected or
confirmed.
Objective: To verify that there is a fuel leak and shut
down the affected engine, if needed.
