B. Smoke/Fire/Fumes Procedure (Cont’d)
(6) Descent ....................................................... Initiate to 10,000 feet or lowest safe
altitude, whichever is higher.
(7) AIR-CONDITIONING,
RAM-AIR switch/light.................................Press in to open ram air valve.
Check RAM AIR OPEN light
on.
(8) Passenger oxygen........................................Select to CLOSED.
(9) CABIN PRESSURIZATION,
EMER DEPRESS
switch/light .................................................Press in Check the following:
• EMER DEPRESS ON light
on, and
• EMER DEPRESS caution
message on.
(10) Airspeed ..................................................250 KIAS recommended during cruise to
provide sufficient airflow to
passengers within cabin.

Source of smoke/fire/fumes not visually confirmed to be extinguished or
fire uncontrollable:
(3) Land immediately at the nearest suitable airport.
CAUTION
Expedite the landing. Dependant upon the severity of the
situation, the crew should consider an overweight landing,
tailwind landing, ditching or a forced off-airport landing.

SOURCE IS IDENTIFIED AS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
WARNING
If the affected electrical system cannot be positively identified and
isolated, land immediately at the nearest suitable airport.
NOTE
If time and conditions permit, consider determining the source of
smoke/fire/fumes by sequentially isolating each electrical system. If
smoke/fumes continue or do not clear at a satisfactory rate, recover the
isolated system and proceed to subsequent system.
