WARNING
If ground or obstacle contact is imminent, use all available engine
thrust.
H. Windshear Caution
Windshear cautions are indicated as follows:
• WINDSHEAR caution message on PFD.
During take-off, approach or landing:
(1) Thrust levers/TOGA switch .................... Advance/press Advance thrust levers to
maximum take-off thrust while
simultaneously pressing either
take-off or go-around (TOGA)
switch.
(2) Normal go-around ............................................... Initiate
4. OVERSPEED WARNING SYSTEM
A. First Flight of the Day
(1) OVSP TEST switch ..............................................Select to 1 then 2, in turn. Check that
overspeed clacker comes on.

B. During Flight
Overspeed warnings are indicated as follows:
• The overspeed warning clacker sounds until airspeed is reduced below VMO/MMO or VFE.
(1) Airspeed ............................................................ Reduce until less than VMO/MMO or
VFE.
5. TRAFFIC ALERT AND COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM (TCAS) (IF INSTALLED)
A. First Flight of the Day
(1) Display control panel, TFC button ..........................Push to select TCAS traffic
display on the MFD.
(2) Radio tuning unit, TCAS page
TEST line select key..............................................Press Select the TCAS TEST and
check the following:
• TRAFFIC (flashing red)
and VSI (red/green bar)
on PFD.
• Verify threat symbols
displayed on MFD.
• TCAS TEST (white) on
MFD and PFD.
• “TCAS SYSTEM TEST
OK” aural message
comes on.
NOTE
TCAS system test failure is indicated by TCAS FAIL caution
message on MFDs/PFDs.
(3) Radio Tuning Unit, ATC page ALT
line select key........................................................Press to turn ON altitude reporting
mode. Check the following:
• ATC page indicates ALT
ON.
• Displayed altitude
corresponds with the
current pressure altitude.
B. Resolution Advisory During Flight
Resolution advisories are indicated as follows:
• Vertical maneuver commands (red/green band) on vertical speed indicator,
• Threat level symbology (red square symbol) on multi-function display, including closure
rates and relative altitude , and
• Vertical maneuver voice aurals.

B. Resolution Advisory During Flight (Cont’d)
CAUTION
Compliance with a TCAS resolution advisory is necessary
unless the pilot considers the maneuver unsafe to accomplish,
or unless the pilot has accurate information about the cause of
the resolution advisory and can maintain safe separation from
a nearby airplane.
During flight:
(1) Autopilot ....................................................... Disconnect
(2) Applicable maneuver................................... Accomplish immediately, adjusting engine
thrust as required.
If an additional maneuver is
indicated (e.g. a reversal), it
also must be accomplished
immediately.
NOTE
1. For a non-crossing RA, the vertical speed should be accurately
adjusted to comply with the RA. This avoids negating the
effectiveness of a co-ordinated manoeuvre by the intruder aircraft.
2. For a crossing RA, non-compliance by one aircraft can result in
reduced vertical separation with the need to achieve safe horizontal
separation by visual means.
CAUTION
Once an RA maneuver has been initiated, the maneuver must be
continued until a “CLEAR OF CONFLICT” aural comes on.
If stabilized in approach:
(1) Autopilot ....................................................... Disconnect
(2) Go-around ........................................................... Initiate
If RA is accompanied with a GPWS or STALL warning:
(1) Applicable RA maneuver............................. Discontinue
