Project Management – Baggage Handling System - Dubai T3
􀂃 Dubai International Airport is extending its
capacity with a new terminal T3 plus two new
concourses, C2 and C3, from at present 22
mio passengers per year to 70 mio Pax by
2008.
􀂃 To check-in and to collect their baggage
the passengers move several levels below
the apron. The terminal lays over 15 m deep
underground. Above the ground you only see
the lavishly equipped concourses on the
apron in the midst of the airplanes. This
extraordinary concept enabled a spacious
extension despite the restrictive space limits
of a city-airport.
􀂃 80 kilometres of automatic baggage
handling system connect the buildings
underground with up to 7.5 m/s and assure a
transfer time of 45 minutes. Agiplan
supported the system provider, Siemens AG,
in the management of the integration of
systems.
