CHAPTER 1
Definitions "Accident". An accident is characterized by the death of any person on board the aircraft whether or not
he or she is a passenger or crew member.
Bodily injury to persons not on board the aircraft is not considered to be a defining characteristic of an
accident. Serious bodily injuxy is not considered to be a defining characteristic of an accident.
