B. Front Fuselage
All items performed, the findings, as well as their correction must be recorded in accordance with
an approved procedures manual. Contact Diamond Aircraft if damages are determined which
cannot be repaired in accordance with an approved procedures manual.

1. Examine the complete surface of the front
fuselage. Look especially for damage
(dents, cracks, holes, scratches and
delamination).
Examine the paint coat.

2. Visually examine the condition of the paint.
Look for chips, scratches, UV damage, and
condition of fire-proof paint aft of lower cowl
outlet.

3. Inspect for cracks in the paint at the bonding
seam down the centre line of the fuselage,
upper and lower surfaces.
Do a visual inspection and a tap test of the
fuselage skin.
- Inspect for disbonding between internal
composite components and skin.

4. Examine the composite structure around the
entrance steps. Inspect especially for cracks
or delaminations in the attachment area.

5. Examine the canopy. Check the latching
components for corrosion wear and damage.
- Inspect the aft mount and rear hinge, the
forward attaching points, the rubber
stopper and the balance spring.
Make sure the canopy locking mechanism
will release. (Refer to Chapter 52-10).

6. Visually examine the canopy frame. Check
for delamination, scratches and cracks,
especially around the fastener holes.

7. Do the canopy latch force test.
(Refer to Chapter 52-10).

8. Examine the fuselage around the mounting
hardware for the canopy latch.
- Inspect for security of the mounting
hardware.

9. Remove the wheel fairings. Look for cracks
on the fairing mounts.
