ENGINE FUEL DISTRIBUTION -FUEL INJECTOR AND SUPPORT INSTALLATION
General
The fuel injector and support installation supplies metered fuel from the distribution valve to the engine combustion chamber.
These are the components of the fuel injector and support installation:

Fuel Supply Tube
The distribution valve supplies metered fuel through 8 supply tubes to the 8 fuel injector supply manifolds.
Fuel Injector Supply Manifold
Each injector supply manifold supplies fuel to 3 fuel injectors.
Fuel Injector
Twenty four fuel injectors supply a spray of fuel into the combustion chamber.
All of the injectors are the same and attach equally around the diffuser case. The numbers 1 to 24 identify the injector locations. The injector at the top of the engine and to the right of the vertical centerline is in injector location number 1.
To get access to some fuel injectors, it is necessary to remove other engine components.

ENGINE FUEL DISTRIBUTION -FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Fuel Pump
The fuel pump pressurizes the fuel from the airplane fuel system.
The low pressure boost stage pump pressurizes the fuel and sends it to the fuel/oil cooler (FOC). Heated fuel from the FOC then goes through the fuel pump filter element and on to the high pressure main stage pump.
The main stage pump increases the fuel pressure and sends it to the FMU. It also sends high pressure fuel to the servo fuel heater.
The EEC uses the filter differential pressure switch to monitor the filter for blockage. The filter bypass valve lets unfiltered fuel go around a blocked filter.

FMU
The FMU meters fuel for combustion and sends it through the fuel flow transmitter to the fuel distribution valve. The fuel that the FMU does not use for combustion goes to the fuel bypass valve.

The FMU meters fuel for combustion and sends it through the fuel flow transmitter to the fuel distribution valve. The fuel that the FMU does not use for combustion goes to the FOC.
