Fuel Pump Filter Differential Pressure Switch
The fuel filter differential pressure switch supplies a signal to the EEC that indicates an almost clogged filter condition. Unfiltered fuel can bypass the filter element if the element becomes clogged.

Fuel Bypass Valve
The fuel bypass valve attaches to the left side of the fuel pump. It sends the FMU bypass fuel to the FOC.

CAUTION:  DO NOT PUT THE FULL WEIGHT OF THE FUEL PUMP ON THE SPLINES DURING THE REMOVAL OF THE FUEL PUMP FROM THE GEARBOX. IF YOU DO NOT TAKE THESE PRECAUTIONS, DAMAGE CAN OCCUR TO THE SPLINES.

ENGINE FUEL DISTRIBUTION -FUEL PUMP
You must remove the FMU from the pump before you remove the pump from the gearbox. To remove the pump you must remove the anti-rotation bolt. Then, loosen the other bolts until the captured washers on the bolts do not touch the fuel pump flange. Turn the pump clockwise to disengage the flange from the bolts.

ENGINE FUEL DISTRIBUTION -FUEL DISTRIBUTION VALVE

General
The fuel distribution valve receives metered fuel from the FMU through the fuel flow transmitter. The valve then supplies the fuel to eight fuel tubes.
Functional Description
The fuel distribution valve has two pieces. The forward piece is an adapter. It connects to the fuel flow transmitter. The aft piece connects to the fuel injector supply manifolds. It contains a strainer and a valve mechanism.
The strainer is a coarse filter. It catches fuel contaminants before the fuel goes to the fuel injectors. A bypass valve in the strainer permits fuel to pass if the strainer becomes clogged.
The valve mechanism prevents fuel leakage from the FMU and fuel flow transmitter into the engine after the engine is shut down. It also permits the upper six fuel injector supply manifolds to drain after shut down. They drain into the engine through the lower two manifolds.
