The flight crew can do a manual flight initialization. To do this, they complete the flight initialization pages and select SEND.
To request an auto-initialization, the flight crew enters or confirms the flight number and schedule date. The flight crew then selects SEND to transmit the flight initialization message. This causes the ground to update the flight initialization display.

DCMS -FDCF DELAY REPORTS SUB-MENU
General
The flight crew uses the DELAY REPORT sub-menu to tell the airline of a departure, takeoff, or enroute delay. You select it from the COMPANY menu. Three exclusive selectors show on the DELAY REPORT display. These are the displays you can select from the DELAY REPORT display:

DEPARTURE DELAY
*
TAKEOFF DELAY
*
ENROUTE DELAY.
These three buttons show at the bottom of the display.

SEND -sends the downlink message
*
RETURN -takes you back to the COMPANY menu
*
EXIT -takes you back to the MAIN menu.

The DEPARTURE DELAY display shows the estimated out time. It also shows these exclusive-selectors:

DCMS -FDCF ACARS SUB-MENU
ACARS Sub-menu Page One
Page one of the ACARS sub-menu lets the flight crew select the ACARS frequency and scan rate. It also lets the flight crew set the secondary frequency. To do this, type the frequency into the CDU scratch pad. Use the cursor control device (CCD) to highlight the box prompts. Use the CCD cursor select switch to select the secondary frequency.
