STAB TRIM Control Levers (Fig. 3)

The control stand is equipped with two levers which control the stabilizer in the manual mechanical mode. The levers are connected to the STCM's by cables. One lever activates the arm hydraulic valve in both STCM's and the other lever activates the control hydraulic valve. Movement of the STAB TRIM control levers overrides all electric trim commands.

The arm lever is equipped with a stab trim standby switch which transmits an electrical signal to the SAM when the STAB TRIM control levers are engaged. This synchronizes the mach/speed trim function to the stabilizer position commanded by the manual control system. It also prevents mistaken annunciation of unscheduled stabilizer movement.
C.
AIRPLANES WITH ALTERNATE STAB TRIM SWITCHES ON THE CONTROL STAND; Alternate Stab Trim Switches (Fig. 3)

Dual switches, on the control stand panel, operate the stabilizer trim system in the alternate-electric control mode. The switches are mounted side-by-side on the control stand such that both can be operated at the same time. The left segment operates the "control" hydraulic valves on the STCMs and the right segment operates the "arm" hydraulic valve on the STCMs. Movement of the alternate stab trim switches in the opposite direction of the control wheel switches stops the movement of the horizontal stabilizer.
