Fill the starter with oil as follows (Fig. 301):
(a)
Remove the oil fill plug adjacent to the sight glass.
1) Discard the seal ring.
(b)
Fill the starter with clean approved oil until the oil level is at the mark on the oil level sight glass.
(c)
Install the oil fill plug as follows: 1) Lubricate a new seal ring with oil (AMM 70-02-01/201). 2) Install the seal ring on the oil fill plug. 3) Install the oil fill plug in the starter.
a) Tighten the oil fill plug to 20-35 pound-inches (2.5-3.9 Newton meters). b) Install lockwire to the oil fill plug.

(2) Clean unwanted oil from the starter.
