CREW OXYGEN SYSTEM - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
______________________________________________
General (Fig. 1)
_______
 A.  The crew oxygen system is a diluter-demand system designed to deliver emergency breathing oxygen to each crew station.
 B.  The crew oxygen system consists of these components:
 (1)
Dual oxygen cylinders

 (2)
Cylinder coupling assembly - one per cylinder

 (3)
Thermal compensator - one per cylinder

 (4)
Pressure reducer - one per cylinder

 (5)
Pressure transducer - one per cylinder

 (6)
Voltage averaging unit

 (7)
Pressure regulator

 (8)
Mask stowage boxes

 (9)
Mask/regulator assemblies

 (10)
 Overboard discharge port and indicator

 (11)
 Supply and distribution lines

 C.  Oxygen is stored in the high-pressure oxygen cylinders. The pressure reducers, the pressure regulator, and the demand regulators togather decrease the cylinder pressure to useable levels for breathing. High-pressure indication is provided by the combination of the pressure transducers and the voltage averaging unit.
 D.  Oxygen servicing is accomplished by cylinder replacement with fully
charged cylinders (Ref 12-15-08/301).Oxygen Cylinder Assembly (Fig. 2)
