Apply BMS10-21 Type II anti-static paint to the entire outer radome surface.

Apply masking tape to a 5-inch vertical band area all around the radome from STA 138.6 to STA 143.6 and apply BMS10-79 Type II primer on the radome except for the band area.
(4)
Apply BMS10-60 Type II enamel to the radome except for the band area.
(5)
Remove the masking tape from the 5-inch vertical band area and apply a second coat of BMS10-21 Type II anti-static coating to the band area only.
(6)
Apply masking tape and masking materials aft of STA 138.6 and apply BMS10-60 Type II enamel for the erosion coating from the radome nose tip to STA 138.6.

Remove the nose radome from the airplane (AMM 53-52-00/401).

Remove all lightning diverter strips from the nose radome
(53-52-03/201).

Identify the lightning diverter strips for subsequent installation.

(4)
Clean and prepare the surface of the nose radome (AMM 51-21-21/701).
(a)
Solvent clean the surface of the radome with naphtha.
(b)
Abrade the surface of the nose radome.

(5) If there are surface defects, do these steps:
CAUTION: ONLY USE THE STATIC CONDITIONER FILLER TO FILL SMALL
_______ SURFACE DEFECTS SUCH AS PINHOLES. DO NOT USE THE FILLER TO MAKE LARGE AREAS SMOOTH. A CONTINUOUS LAYER OF FILLER WILL CAUSE A BAD PAINT BOND.
(a)
Apply the static conditioner filler 28-C-1 to small surface defects.
(b)
Let the filler dry.
(c)
Remove unwanted filler with a clean dry cloth, BMS15-5.
NOTE: Do not use solvents to remove the remaining filler.
____ Solvents will remove the static conditioner on touch.

If there are surface defects that you cannot fill with the filler, use the Laminar X-500 Off-White Surfacer, 8-W-5.
(e)
Let the surfacer dry.
