(a) Drain the oil tank (Ref. TASK 12-13-79-610-003)
(b) Service the oil tank with a mixture of approved engine oil (Material No. CP2442) and 7 percent (by volume) corrosion preventive additive (Material No. CP5075) or with a mixture of approved engine oil (Material No. CP2442) and 5 percent (by volume) lube system corrosion preventive oil (Material No. CP5067) . A minimum of 19 l (5 USgal) of oil is necessary to motor the engine during preservation.
(c) When the engine is motored without the accessories installed, make sure that the items that follow are installed.
1 Pad covers and gaskets on pads where accessories are normally
_
 installed.
2 Caps on the pad cavity drains to prevent the loss of engine
_
 oil.
 (d) Disconnect the fuel pump inlet tube. 1 Put a container 4 US gal (16 l) under the fuel pump inlet
_
 tube.

2 Remove the 4 bolts, and the 4 washers which attach the fuel
_ inlet tube to the fuel manifold duct. Let the fuel drain into the container.
 3 Keep the gasket.
_
 (e) Install a temporary line to the fuel pump inlet tube. The line will supply oil fuel system corrosion preventive oil (Material No. CP5066) at 50 psi (3.5 bar) maximum pressure.
R - The line is to be locally manufactured.
R For details:
R (Ref. Fig. 303/TASK 72-00-00-991-312)
 (f) Disconnect:
CAUTION : USE 2 WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING
_______ NUTS. ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION AND ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE HARDWARE.
1 Disconnect the line from the PCR port on the HMU.
_
 (g) Install a temporary hose drain line 118 in. (3 m) long from the HMU PCR port and put the hose to drain in a container 26.5 USgal (100 l) capacity. Attach the hose to prevent spillage.
R - The drain line is to be locally manufactured using a coupling R tube welding P/N J382P06 (0.5625-18 diameter UNJF-3A R Threads/material AMS 5645).
 (h) Do a dry motoring check for 30 seconds (Ref. TASK 71-00-00-710-001).
NOTE : Engine can be motored on stand by connecting a start cart
____ hose to the starter shut off valve, with a locally manufactured adapter.
1 Stop the engine motoring. Let the engine coast down.
_
