A. Manual Control of the Starter Valve. WARNING : TAKE CARE WHEN OPERATING THE STARTER SHUTOFF VALVE WITH ENGINE
_______
RUNNING. OBEY TO SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.
CAUTION : DO NOT OPERATE THE MANUAL HANDLE OF THE PNEUMATIC STARTER
_______ VALVE, IF THE STARTER SYSTEM IS NOT PRESSURIZED. IF NOT DAMAGE TO THE PNEUMATIC STARTER VALVE CAN OCCUR.
R (1) Perform an engine start (Ref. TASK 71-00-00-710-004) by operating the R starter valve manually (Ref. FCOM 3-04-70 Pg8 Seq7 Rev30).
(2) After engine start cycle, check on starter valve that manual handle is in closed position (Ref. TASK 80-11-00-040-044). If not manually close the starter shutoff valve.

(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a warning notice to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.

A. Removal of the Pneumatic Starter.
WARNING : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU MOVE THE ENGINE STARTER. BECAUSE THE
_______ STARTER WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 38 POUNDS (17 KG), INJURY CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION : DURING REMOVAL, KEEP THE STARTER PERPENDICULAR TO ITS AGB
_______ MOUTING PAD. IF NOT, THE SEAL RING CAN SNAP OUT, CAUSE THE SUDDEN DISENGAGEMENT OF THE STARTER UNDER ITS WEIGHT, AND DAMAGE TO THE DRIVE SHAFT. NEVER LET THE DRIVE SHAFT TAKE THE WEIGHT OF THE STARTER.
